“Operating Room Technicians”
Duties and Responsibilities: Scrub surgical technologists set up a sterile operating room environment and are responsible for maintaining that field. Their chief job is to make sure the patient has the best possible care throughout the surgery.
Salary: The median annual Operating Room Technician salary is $45,287, as of February 22, 2017, with a range usually between $41,032-$49,103, however this can vary widely depending on a variety of factors.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited postsecondary surgical technology program
Need for this profession:Candidates must have graduated from an accredited program, completed on-the-job training or accumulated a minimum amount of work experience. Certified technicians can renew their credentials every 4-5 years by completing continuing education.
