Thanksgiving break 

For thanksgiving break i was at home because it was raining a lot so i didn't want to go out. When it wasn't raining i went to the santa monica pier so from there we’d go to the mall. At the mall we just got my brother his iphone and also bought lots of cloths. I also went to city walk just to walk around and see what there is to buy. I met one of my aunt in law's mom. A movie i watched was arrival that movie was lit it's about when spaceships land in 12 different locations. A sport event i played was the quarter finals and we won the other team so we advance to the next round. I also watches the madrid derby which is real madrid vs atletico madrid. In that game real madrid won. Something else i did was eat food together as family and we were all together which is something that rarely ever happens because not everyone can make it to a family reunion.

Manners maketh man
 I think that this quote means that the manners you have make you into the person you are today.you have to be polite to others and not treat em bad and also based on your behavior.  I also think that this means that the way you treat others than that will make you into the person you will be in the future so you have to start now making good decisions to be great person later in life.  The way you have acted has shaped you into the person you are today. You can either be respectful or you can act disrespectful. If you are respectful than you have good manners so it might shaped you into a good person and if you have bad manners than you might be a pad person always choosing the wrong. An example for good manners is when you act right and not disrespectful towards others. If you don't have manners than you will make yourself into a ctw person.

“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it”

I think that this quote means that when you know something is not right to do then you are not suppose to do it because then later you will get consequences. You can get in trouble for doing something that is not right. You have to choose the right and not do something your not suppose to. The second part of the quote i think it means dont go around and saying things that are not true. Don't make up things about people and tell everyone. An example is that if someone tells you a rumor of some else don't go around telling others because you don't know it's true unless you heard from that person.

Today, however, nearly 90 percent of Americans eat the bird—whether roasted, baked or deep-fried—on Thanksgiving, according to the National Turkey Federation. Other traditional foods include stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Parades have also become an integral part of the holiday in cities and towns across the United States. Roosevelt’s plan, known derisively as Franksgiving, was met with passionate opposition, and in 1941 the president reluctantly signed a bill making Thanksgiving the fourth Thursday in November.

“Hold yourself responsible for a higher standard than anybody else expects of you. Never excuse yourself”.

I think what this is saying that you have to set a higher expectation than what is required by you. Also that you should not blame the things you do on others and take the blame for your own actions. To make sure you do better than what they expect from you. You have to be responsible with what is expected. I also think that this means that when you are expected to do something that you should set the standard higher and do much more. An example is that when you are caught smoking do not blame it on your friends and say they made . you should be able to take the blame for your own actions.

                        Veterans Day

• A public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of world war 1 (November 11) to honor us veterans and victims of all wars. It replaced Armistice Day in 1954.
• November 11
• It honors military veterans that is persons who served in the united states armed force.
• It is important to continue honoring veterans because it is a way of acknowledging the sacrifices they have made while serving their country. Without the service of veterans, Americans may not have the freedoms they do today.
•  1) flowers/flags on the graves of veterans. 
• 2)Proudly display your American flag. 
• 3)Help a homeless veterans through VA services.
• 4)Order a pizza. On 11/11/11 for every order placed, papa john's will donate $1 to the USO.
• 5)Volunteer at a VA Hospital.
• I feel like it is a good thing that they celebrate this holiday. The people that were there should be remembered. They fought for people's freedom so they should be respected. I also think that the homeless veterans should have a home. They fought for freedom so they should be taken care of. They should not be treated bad.

 

These are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity:

1. Have the courage to say no.
2. Have the courage to face the truth.
3. Do the right thing because it is right.

I think this means is that you should not be afraid to do whats right for you and say what's right for you. This is saying that you should be able to say no to the things that are not good for you. Like if someone offered you a cigarette or a beer than you should be able to say to them. You have to own up to the things they did and not lie about it. Like if someone is saying the truth about something you did than you have to up and say you did do that. You have to choose the right and not do the wrong thing. You have to do what is best for you, like if someone told you to do something wrong then you should choose the right and not do it.

"he that walketh with wise men shall be wise but a companion of fools shall be destroyed" 

i think this quote is saying that those who hang out with the wise will have to do good and those who hang out with fools are gonna do bad things in life. this quote is telling you that you get to choose the group of friends that you hang out with that you get to choose whether you hang out out with wise people and actually do something with your life or be fool and go no where. this means that you have to choose the right and so the better decision is to hang out with the wise people so that you can do good in life and go to college. an example is that the kid from the video was hanging out with the wrong people so he would do bad things and worry his father but then he switched schools and started to hang out with wise people and then he started to do better and then he graduate high school and did not end up on the streets. 

Vanguard vs Tornado

 tornadoes where a team that came from a school were most kids were not let out so that they can go to the games and play. they had to do real good so they were let out o play. tornado did not have any fans  cause no one ever went to see them play. when they were gonna play against vanguard. two kids from vanguard then told some of the people that went to see them play to cheer for the tornadoes. the tornado team was surprised because they never had people cheering for them. this impacted there lives because it made them feel better made it feel like people out there have someone care about them.
